For sure! Nice to have a couple consistent flames bloggers these days, with usually two different, fresh, approaches

This contract is just perfect in the sense that if Brodie progresses (Which im sure is the case), he gets the big pay-day, and Feaster will be more than glad to pay him that if he becomes that legit top 2 puck mover that he can be, and if he regresses, he isnt locked up for a poop-ton of time a la Matty Franchise.

Love it...perfect deal.

I also heard Brodie's interview and I like what he said. With the 2 year deal he's not going to have the pressure to perform like he would under a 1-year deal. He can come in here and earn his next extension based on his body of work over the next 2 years.

Love watching him play, had a great year last year, I think he will take another step this season as well!

I know! I was starting to think he was going to hold out, so I was trying to dislike him.

Assuming that TJ continues to progress and becomes a bona-fide 1st-pair NHL defenseman, I think a contract structure such as: 1-year deal @ $1,250,000 followed by a 2-year deal @ $2,000,000 (anual cap hit) followed by a 4 year deal @ 4,000,000 (anual cap hit) would be fair. The total length of the deals 7 years @ $21,250,000 (~ $3,000,000/year) The Flames would then retain his rights until he was 30.

I wasn't too far off.... my prognostication was only $0.5 mil off on the 1st two seasons. It will be interesting to see how the next contract plays out.

Horcoff $786k per goal last season, Ales Hemsky $556k per goal last season. Both of them are veteran forwards. Ryan Whitney $1.375 million per goal, Ladislav Smid and Nick Shultz $3.5 million per goal. Ooops...

No point responding to that clown man, he just makes asinine comments and then moves on. Quite sad really.
